It’s no joke…Our Habitat ReStores are excited about recycling!
Today we kick off our iReStore Campaign — an initiative designed to increase donations and revenue for our ReStores, while encouraging the community to engage in more environmentally friendly practices. The iReStore campaign takes a personalized approach to Recycling, Reusing, and Restoring to reduce waste in landfills; and challenges people to share their thoughts on recycling.
Now through Earth Day – April 22 – tune into U.S 106.1 New Country to hear comments from a few of our “Recycle Ambassadors” as they share their thoughts on the importance of recycling in the community. Check out our Executive Director’s ”sound bite” on Habitat’s commitment to reducing waste and community preservation.”
Many people in our community and around the globe are familiar with Habitat for Humanity — particularly as it relates to our building programs. However, our Habitat ReStores are also an integral component of our mission to eradicate poverty housing, as they help to fund our new construction and renovation projects. We currently operate three ReStores — two in Virginia Beach and one in Downtown Norfolk — that sell affordable new and gently used (donated) building materials, furniture, appliances, and home goods to the general public.
Be sure to stop by any one of our THREE ReStore locations on Earth Day, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m., for our Habitat SHR Tool Drive. We encourage people in the community to recycle their gently used tools and other home improvement items. Come check out great deals and chat with Dave Parker from U.S 106.1 New Country as we celebrate Earth Day live on the air.
