Meet the Habitat SHR Staff

Helen Sommer - Executive Director Joined Habitat SHR: 1997 Extension: 203 Habitat for Humanity is a goal worth striving for. Karl Bogott - Director of Planning and Logistics Joined Habitat SHR: 2007 Extension: 220 Karl has worked on 30 builds locally, 2 Builders Blitz, 2 Blitz and 1 International build. A retired Navy officer, seeing that volunteers have everything they need is his goal. Cheryl Moore - Director of Family Services Joined Habitat SHR: 2004 Extension: 208 Cheryl is our main point of contact with Habitat qualifying families before, during and after selection, building and occupancy. Kathy Wright - Faith in Action Coordinator Joined Habitat SHR: 2008 Extension: 213 Kathy leads our efforts to integrate the faith community into the Habitat model; whether through donations or volunteer activity. She also leads the "A Brush With Kindness" program. Sharon Chittim - Office Manager Joined Habitat SHR: 2008 Extension: 201 Sharon is the first voice on the phone and the organization to our organization. Tina Gray - Bookkeeper Joined Habitat SHR: 2010 Extension: 214 Tina works closely with Fran.

Francess Taylor - Controller Joined Habitat SHR: 2009 Extension: 206 Fran works closely with the staff to ensure accurate financial reporting of all project activities. As Habitat grows in its community service activities, she will ensure that our internal controls will remain effective and continue to safeguard our financial resources. Sherran Denkler - Director of Development and Marketing Joined Habitat SHR: 2009 Extension: 219 Sherran works within the various communites, faith, corporate and individual, to see that Habitat SHR has the funds needed to perform its mission. Sheila Bogott - Comm./Marketing Manager Joined Habitat SHR: 2006 Extension: 209 Sheila volunteered for Habitat SHR three years before coming on board officially. Currently she is the webmaster, graphic artist, grant writer, speaker and face to the public. She strives daily to disseminate the message to the public – workin’ hard to keep the volunteers and donors plugged in. Linda Corns - Retail Director Joined Habitat SHR: 2004 Phone: 335.2852 Linda directs our two General Stores and the staff that receives, sorts and presents donated clothing, household items and building materials for sale to the public. Sally Ellefson - Donation Pickup Coordinator Joined Habitat SHR: 2006 Extension: 217 Sally schedules and dispatches the drivers to pickup donations to both Providence and Tidewater stores.
